Handouts are an integral part of virtually all wellness programs and health promotion initiatives. Our website includes nearly 16,000 free health and wellness resources. While some wellness companies and “non-profit” wellness organizations prefer to charge for them, we prefer to offer our high quality resources for free. As a result, Wellness Proposals has become one of the world’s leading websites for free health and wellness programs and resources. We invite you to see for yourself the amazing resources we’ve collected and/or created and make available for use.
The handouts are categorized and found within our Wellness Library. A partial listing of the categories follows:
Handouts: Electronic vs Printed
Let’s be honest – most printed handouts end up in the trash. Sure, you may think you’ve created or found the world’s best handout but the reality is that most people throw then away. Why not consider the environment and simply provide electronic handouts instead of printed (“dead tree”) versions. People can easily save them and/or refer to them in the future when needed.
As time passes this approach will become even more important – from both and environmental perspective and from a convenience perspective. Few would argue that we need to do more to help the environment so I won’t comment further on that. From a convenience perspective, we need to provide people with information at the time they need it. Having a printed handout at home is of little use if I’m at work when I need the information. If the information is available online then I’m able to access the information from anywhere that I’ve to Internet access. Further, as more and more people get Smartphones they’ll have even easier access to information that’s provide electronically.
Sending information electronically also saves postage, saves printing costs and save time. It’s much faster to send employees and email with an attachment than to find a handout, print it, stuff them in an envelop and mail them to your employees or members. Why waste all that time?
Electronic handouts just make more sense than the printed versions pushed by many wellness companies and a particular “non-profit” organization. While we believe that those organizations have a right to earn a living we do not like to see companies waste their hard earned wellness budgets on “dead tree” / printed versions. They are going to end up in the trash – so why not do the right thing, do the smart thing and send them electronically.
Save money, save the environment and provide easier access by using electronic methods to deliver information.
The resources found on our website are a mix of internally created resources and externally created resources. For items that are created externally we work hard to ensure that we note and credit the applicable organization or agency that’s allowing us to post their resources on our website. It’s important to note that those external agencies retain their own copyrights on the materials so be sure to refer to the originating provider of the resource before using the information.
Most of the externally provided resources come from non-profit, governmental and/or educational organizations (universities, etc.). The resources that come from governmental agencies do not generally have a copyright, but it’s best to make sure before you make use of the resource.
Let me take a minute to again thank the many agencies and organizations that have made their resources available to use and our many website visitors. Because of the generosity of these many wonderful agencies and organizations we’re able to provide an amazingly large and useful resource. Its our hope that you will be able to use this information in your efforts to promote health within your own wellness programs.
We also welcome organizations and individuals to contribute resources to our website. If you have any items you’d like for us to add then please contact us. By working together we can improve the health and wellness of the world.
